programs.  These programs are a great way to

make new friends and a safe way to have fun over

the long summer months!

Youth Group

June 25th-August 27th

Every Thursday Night from 6-8 P.M.

Cost: Free   Registration Deadline: None
Grades: Youths (Grades 1-4), Juniors (Grades 5-8)

Description:  Join us on Thursday nights for some fun and fellowship. 
We will begin each night  with short devotions that touch on the many
challenges faced by the youth in our world today. 

Following the devotion we will take part in activities such as basketball,
bowling, movies, and all sorts of other games and events.   Some of the
activities (such as bowling) we will take part in may cost a few dollars. 
Advance notice will be given before the nights participants need to bring
some money  along with them.  Feel free to bring along a friend or two any
time you come! 

Summer School
June  29th  - August 14th
Mon, Wed, Fri  10:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M.

Cost: $200    Registration Deadline:  June 28
Grades: Entering K-8th Grade

Description:  This summer Living Word Christian Academy will be
offering a summer school every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings
from 10:00 A.M. -12:30 P.M.  The first class will be held on Monday June 29th
with the last class falling on Friday, August 14th. 

The summer school will focus on improving  Reading, English, and Math skills. 
The students will be challenged to improve their core skills in these subjects
through classroom study, fun activities, and projects.  

Teaching and leading the summer school classes will be the Principal of Living
Word Christian Academy, Mr. Brad Gurgel, as well as the lower grade teacher
Mrs. Bethany Gurgel.  Two Elementary Education major students from Martin
Luther College in New Ulm, MN will be joining us to help give individual aid
and attention to each student present. 

Children’s Cooking Camp

July 2nd -July 30th 2009

Every Thursday 10 A.M.—12 P.M.

Cost: $25   Registration Deadline:  June 28
Grades: Entering 1st-8th Grade

Description:  Every Thursday in July we will be hosting a cooking camp for
all students entering 1st—8th grade.  

At each class the children will be cooking a simple recipe or two to take  home
and eat.  Children will be taught the concepts of kitchen safety, measuring,
and following the directions found in recipes.   This is a great opportunity to
develop some practical skills that will last a lifetime!

 Living Word Lions Basketball Camp

July 13th-July 17th

8:00–10:00 A.M.

Cost: $35   Registration Deadline: July 4th
Grades: Entering 3rd-8th Grade

Description:  Living Word Christian Academy will be hosting a basketball
camp for the week of July 11-17 for  all interested boys and girls.

The camp will focus on the skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Running
the camp will be the Academy’s basketball coach and Principaal, Mr. Brad Gurgel,
as well as two college students with basketball experience. 

Each camp participant will receive a camp T-shirt.  Please register by the July
4th deadline to be eligible for a shirt. 

Vacation Bible School

July 20th-July 24th

8:00 -10:00 A.M.

Cost: $20   Registration Deadline:  July 11th
Grades: Entering K-5th Grade

Description:  Join us for a week of Bible lessons and fun activities from
July 20-24th.  Each day the students will learn and discuss a different Bible Story. 
The students will then be lead in games and crafts relating to the Bible story. 

Each participant will receive a VBS T-Shirt.  Please register by the deadline in order to be
eligible for the shirt.             

Living Word Lions Soccer Camp

August 3rd-August 7th

8:00-10:00 A.M.

Cost: $35   Registration Deadline:  July 25
Grades: Entering 3rd-8th Grade

Description:  The Living Word Lions Soccer camp will be held from August 3rd-7th.
The focus will be on the skills of passing, shooting, and team work.  The camp is open to
both boys and girls. Campers will take part in various drills and light competition.  

The camp will be run by Principal Brad Gurgel.  Principal Gurgel played four years of
college soccer at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.  He will be joined by two
college students who will help coach the participants. 

All camp participants will receive a camp T-shirt.  Please make sure to register by the
deadline to be eligible for a shirt.
